As you make your way through Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, there are few fire types in Sinnoh, so you may want to get yourself a Charmander when given the chance. The fan-favourite Pokémon, who's final evolution is Charizard, is only available post-game, however.
In this guide, we explain how to get Charmander and evolve them into Charmeleon and Charizard in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
How To Get Charmander
First and foremost, you need to have defeated the Elite Four and become League Champion, then unlocked the National Pokédex. After this, Charmander and over 300 other Pokémon spanning Gen I to Gen III will be available for you to encounter. Charmander is primarily found in the Grand Underground, in the following areas:
- Volcanic Cave
- Sandsear Cavern
- Typhlo Cavern
How To Evolve Charmander Into Charmeleon and Charizard
In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Charmander will evolve through levelling them. At Level 16, they'll evolve into Charmeleon. Then, at Level 36, they'll evolve into Charizard. By carrying your Charmander in your party, they'll level up in no time at all. However, if that isn't fast enough for you, we have some tips on how to level up Pokémon quickly.
That's all there is to getting your hands on your very own Charizard in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl!
