What Is Pokémon Home
Pokémon Home is essentially an updated version of Pokémon Bank, and can be used for storing and transferring Pokémon collected in the most recent games using a cloud-service. Home is currently compatible with other Nintendo Switch titles such as Pokémon Go, Pokémon Sword and Shield, and the Let's Go series. It is yet to support Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, but we talk more on this, and when to expect it, below.
The Pokémon Home application can be used on Nintendo Switch or smartphones. When used on a smartphone, users can trade with friends and other people globally, too. There is also rankings, distribution regulations, and an events' calendar for players to look at and use. Its primary use is being able to transfer Pokémon from one of your games into another game, for example, your beloved Eevee from Let's Go Eevee could be transferred and used in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Is Pokémon Home Coming to BDSP?
During a Pokémon Presents event on August 18th of 2021, there was confirmation that Pokémon Home will support Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. At the time of writing, BDSP is unsupported by Pokémon Home, but we have been told to expect Pokémon Home to support the latest instalment in the franchise at sometime within 2022. Thus, players can expect to hopefully see Pokémon Home come to Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl by the end of the year.
That's all we know about Pokémon Home coming to Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, but we'll be sure to update this space when we know more. In the meantime, go about unlocking your National Pokédex and trading online with friends to get all the Pokémon you want in the latest remake!
