In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you'll likely want to evolve some of your Pokémon. While some Pokémon will evolve naturally, some require special evolution stones in order to evolve to their final form, which can be found around Sinnoh. These take the form of Fire Stone, Water Stone, Dusk Stone, Dawn Stone, Leaf Stone, Thunder Stone, Sun Stone, Moon Stone, and Shiny Stone.

Finding Evolution Stones and Evolving Pokémon
As mentioned, specific Pokémon require special stones in order to evolve into their final form. These stones can be encountered by chance while digging in the Grand Underground, but there are also some particular areas across Sinnoh where you can get your hands on each of them.

The Dawn Stone can be found in the following areas:
- First floor of Mount Coronet, using the Surf Hidden Move.
- Can be found using Pickup Ability. There is a 10% chance of your Pokémon picking this up if they're level 91 or above.
The Dawn Stone can be used to trigger the following evolutions:
- Kirlia → Gallade (must be male)
- Snorunt → Froslass (must be female)
Where To Find Dusk Stone
The Dusk Stone can be found in the following areas:
- Can be found in Team Galactic HQ using the Storage Key.
- Can be found using Pickup Ability. There is a 10% chance of your Pokémon picking this up if they're level 91 or above.
The Dusk Stone can be used to trigger the following evolutions:
- Murkrow → Honchkrow
- Misdreavus → Mismagius
Where To Find Water Stone
The Water Stone can be found in the following areas:
- Exploring Route 213.
- By using the Rock Smash Hidden Move on boulders along Route 230.
- Randomly by digging in the Grand Underground.
- Sphere trading in the Grand Underground.
The Water Stone can be used to trigger the following evolutions:
- Eevee → Vaporeon
Where To Find Sun Stone
The Sun Stone can be found in the following areas:
- Randomly by digging in the Grand Underground.
- Sphere trading in the Grand Underground.
The Sun Stone can be used to trigger the following evolutions:
- No Pokémon in the Sinnoh Pokédex are evolved using the Sun Stone, but Gloom and Sunkern of the National Pokédex require it.
Where To Find Fire Stone
The Fire Stone can be found in the following areas:
- Gifted from Fuego at Fuego Ironworks, but can be found by exploring the area too.
- Randomly by digging in the Grand Underground.
- Sphere trading in the Grand Underground.
The Fire Stone can be used to trigger the following evolutions:
- Eevee → Flareon
Where To Find Thunder Stone
The Thunder Stone can be found in the following areas:
- Found by exploring Sunyshore City.
- Randomly by digging in the Grand Underground.
- Sphere trading in the Grand Underground.
The Thunder Stone can be used to trigger the following evolutions:
- Eevee → Jolteon
- Pikachu → Raichu
- Magneton → Magnezone
Where To Find Leaf Stone
The Leaf Stone can be found in the following areas:
- Found by exploring Floarama Town.
- Found at Fuego Ironworks.
- Randomly by digging in the Grand Underground.
- Sphere trading in the Grand Underground.
The Leaf Stone can be used to trigger the following evolutions:
- Eevee → Leafeon
Where To Find Moon Stone
The Moon Stone can be found in the following areas:
- Randomly by digging in the Grand Underground.
- Sphere trading in the Grand Underground.
- Can be acquired by capturing a Clefairy who happens to be holding it, but this is rare.
The Moon Stone can be used to trigger the following evolutions:
- Clefairy → Clefable
Where To Find Oval Stone
The Oval Stone can be found in the following areas:
- Can be found by exploring inside the Lost Tower.
- Can be acquired by capturing a Happiny who happens to be holding it, but this is rare.
The Oval Stone can be used to trigger the following evolutions:
- Happiny → Chansey
Where To Find Shiny Stone
The Shiny Stone can be found in the following areas:
- Can be found by exploring Iron Island.
- Can be found using Pickup Ability. There is a 10% chance of your Pokémon picking this up if they're level 91 or above.
The Shiny Stone can be used to trigger the following evolutions:
- Togetic → Togekiss
- Roselia → Roserade
