Niantic has provided us with new details about the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova, which will be held in person and globally from February 21 onwards. With limited-time avatar items, fresh music inspired by Unova, and exciting Field Research, this event is sure to be unforgettable for Pokemon fans.
If you plan to participate in this event, here is everything you should know beforehand.
Event locations and schedule
Starting with an in-person event, it will take place in Los Angeles and Taipei City between February 21 and 23, 2025. The ticket price is $30, and you can buy it on the Pokémon GO Tour website.
For US fans, the Rose Bowl Stadium will be the venue. New Taipei Metropolitan Park has been selected as the venue for the event in Taiwan.
Niantic is also promoting a community involvement program that will include meetups during the event. During these events, attendees will have the chance to meet famous content creators and influencers from the Pokémon Go community and engage in group activities.
Of course, not everyone can attend an in-person event, so Niantic is launching the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova Global. This event, which will be held on March 1 and 2, 2025, will enable trainers worldwide to participate from their home cities.
There will be exclusive spawns, legendary Unova Pokémon raid battles, and special research tasks.
Black Kyurem and White Kyurem fusion making their debut

+ 3Kyurem’s fusions have been missing from Pokémon GO for years, and they are finally here. It is a brand-new Pokémon fusion system. You’ll need Volt Fusion Energy and Blaze Fusion Energy, which will be earned by defeating Black or White Kyurem in five-star raids to transform Kyurem into powerful forms.
Event badges and Special Research Task
Trainers will receive a special research task prompting them to choose between Reshiram and Zekrom. Your choice determines the special badge you earn and the Pokémon that receive unique backgrounds.
If you select Reshiram, Pokémon will feature a Pokémon Black-inspired background. Otherwise, choosing Zekrom gives them a Pokémon White-themed look.
Tour Passes
click to enlarge + 3Pokémon GO Tour: Unova is bringing something new this year: the Tour Pass. Unlike past events where bonuses were mostly fixed, trainers can actively work toward unlocking better rewards and perks this time.
The tour pass is free for everyone. Trainers can earn Tour Points by playing, catching Pokémon, battling, and completing tasks.
The Tour Pass Deluxe, which costs $14.99, is a paid upgrade that offers extra perks.
All the collectible Avatar items
click to enlarge + 3Trainers can unlock the GO Tour 2025 Tee, which is initially free. If you have Tour Pass Deluxe, you will receive additional rewards, including the Kyurem Helmet.
During the event, trainers can acquire Black Kyurem Wings and White Kyurem backpacks from the game shop. These items will remain available for purchase even after the event concludes.
You can also get Unova-themed stickers from PokéStops and Gifts between February 24 and March 2, 2025, and purchase Pokémon GO Tour: Unova-themed stickers.
