In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players will be able to ride Pokémon to get around the map. This is a new feature in the ancient region of Hisui that will help players to navigate around the world with ease, and utilise their Pokémon in a brand-new way that is far from battling.

There are a few different Pokémon that players will be able to utilise around Hisui, using them to help navigate tricky areas or to get to areas that are inaccessible on foot. This is one feature we are certainly looking forward to; soaring the seas on the back of Basculegion almost looks relaxing!

In this guide, we explain how to ride Pokémon and which ones are rideable.

How to Ride Pokémon

In order to ride a Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you will first need the Celestica Flute. It is not yet certain how players acquire the Celestica Flute, but it can be assumed that this will be unlocked at some point during the story when you become friends with one of the Wardens who protect the rideable Pokémon. We also can assume that you'll unlock new Pokémon to ride by befriending their Warden, who will then teach you which tune summons that Pokémon!

Once the Celestica Flute has been unlocked, it can be accessed by pressing '+' and then, using the D-pad, you can choose to summon whichever Pokémon you wish to ride around the region of Hisui. We imagine that some Pokémon will be available in some areas, and inaccessible in others. For example, we can't imagine Baculegion trying to help us traverse mountains.

Rideable Pokémon

So far, there are three rideable Pokémon that we are aware of in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, all of which are new and/or Hisuian forms. If there are any more rideable Pokémon that we become aware of, we'll be sure to update this space!

Wyrdeer is a normal/psychic-type Pokémon that can be ridden like a horse, allowing players to jump over certain obstructions that may be in their way around Hisui, such as small rivers. The 'mon can also dash at super high speeds, making it much quicker to travel across an entire area and avoid hostile Pokémon.

Ursaluna

Similarly to the Dowsing Machine or Item Finder in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Ursaluna can be used to dig for treasure whenever you ride them. Once Ursaluna has found a spot to dig in, press 'Y' to dig for the treasure. This is pretty useful for trying to track down Black Augurite; an item needed to evolve Scyther into Kleavor.

Sneasel

When riding Sneasel, you're able to traverse very steep mountains and climb up them. This makes travelling around the mountainous areas of Hisui and catching 'em all much easier.
