In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team and then be tasked with researching all the species of Pokémon across the region of Hisui. With open-world areas and rideable Pokémon available to help you traverse mountains and the sea, the title is one of the most unique Pokémon titles we've seen in a while.
As you complete your research, there are a few items players can use to make catching Pokémon and completing the Pokédex a little easier, such as Smoke Bombs and Stealth Sprays. However, in the ancient region of Hisui, getting items to prepare for battle is not as simple as going to the Poké Mart.
Instead, players must gather materials and craft items. The likes of Poké Balls, Potions, and more will need to be crafted at your Base Camp. This includes rather useful Smoke Bombs! Here's how to craft and use Smoke Bombs in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
How to Craft Smoke Bombs
To craft a Smoke Bomb in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you first need to get your hands on two crafting materials: Sootfoot Root and Caster Fern, shown below. Both materials can be purchased from the Craftworks in Jubilife Village, if not found while out in the wild of Obsidian Fieldlands and beyond.
Once you've got the materials, return to either your Base Camp or Jubilife Village and access the workbench to craft items. From here, you'll then be able to craft as many Smoke Bombs as you need, depending on how much Sootfoot Root and Caster Fern you have gathered.
How to Use Smoke Bombs
After crafting a couple of Smoke Bombs, you can trigger its effect by throwing it at the ground. When thrown, a Smoke Bomb will create a cloud of smoke around your character that reduces their visibility. This means that wild Pokémon will be less likely to notice your character as they approach, making it much easier for you to throw out a Poké Ball and try to catch them.
That's all you need to know about throwing a Smoke Bomb together in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and using it to help fill out your Hisui Pokédex!
