As you adventure around the ancient region of Hisui in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you'll find yourself being a part of the Galaxy Expedition Team, completing research and filling your Pokédex as a result.

Pokémon Centres and Pokémarts in prior titles served as a base for healing your Pokémon and gathering items; in Legends: Arceus, these are somewhat replaced by the likes of Base Camps.

In this guide, we explain how to unlock and use Base Camps in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

How to Unlock Base Camps

Each of the games five main areas will have one Base Camp each that will be unlocked when you first unlock that area. Your first Base Camp at Jubilife Village is unlocked at the beginning of the game, and your second one will be located in Obsidian Fieldlands (the first of the five areas). In total, there are six Base Camps.

How to Use Base Camps

Base Camps can be used for multiple activities in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, including healing and crafting.

Healing Yourself and Your Pokemon

Replacing Pokémon Centers, Base Camps will be where you go to restore the health of yourself and your party of Pokémon. Additionally, if you pass out while battling in the wild, you will be taken to a Base Camp to recover.

Crafting New Items

At Base Camps, there will be a workbench where you can craft new items using resources you've found, such as Potions, Poké Balls, and Smoke Bombs. These items will help you with your research as a part of the Galaxy Expedition Team, and you'll be able to stock up on essential items to aid you in battle.

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you will also be able to use Base Camps to sleep until certain time periods, such as morning, noon, and night. This is a useful tool to use to catch Pokémon that are only available at certain times!

Reporting Research Task Progress

As a part of the Galaxy Expedition Team, you will report any progress on your research tasks to Professor Laventon. The Professor will be at Base Camps and is responsible for updating your Pokédex, so talking to him on occasion is vital!
