Wondering what PlayStation Plus games Sony has in store for January 2022? The PlayStation Plus service allows you access to free online multiplayer gaming, 100 GB cloud storage, and discounts on the PlayStation Store.
Most importantly, it also gives subscribers a handful of free games to download every month. Each month, you get one new PS5 game and two PS4 games to keep if you've subscribed to this service.
As long as you download the games while they're free for that month, you can keep them as long as you continue subscribing to the service.
Compared to the PS Now service, Plus doesn't have that as wide a selection. However, PS Now doesn't really offer the storage perks, nor is it as widely available as PS Plus.
Here's what we know so far about Sony's plans for PS Plus games in January 2022.

December 22, 2021 - January lineup rumors
A DealsLab user claims to have inside information about January's PS Plus lineup. If they're correct, we'll see these three games land on the service:
- Dirt 5
- Persona 5 Strikers
- Deep Rock Galactic
DealsLab is a forum-based site, but its moderators verify leaks and claims before posting them. They did the same for the PS Plus leak, but, of course, it's still a rumor until Sony officially announces otherwise.
PS Plus January 2022 Free Games
There hasn't been any official confirmation about the list of games from Sony for the first month of the new year. The choice of games tends to be random, so it's hard to speculate what games might be landing on the platform.
PS Plus January 2022 Free Games Release Date
The entire list of games for the month of January will likely be revealed on December 29, and we expect the games will go live on January 4, assuming Sony follows its usual patterns.
We'll update this list as and when we get more information about the games.
There's still December's games to claim if you haven't already, though. This month, we have Lego DC Supervillains, Mortal Shell and Godfall: Challenger Edition available with the service. If you sign up now, you'll be able to get these games into your library anytime before the month ends.
PS Plus January 2022 Game Predictions
Once again, it's difficult to take a call on what games could possibly be coming to the service. However, it doesn't really hurt to make a few guesses here and there. Based upon what we've been seeing, here are our predictions about the games that are set to join the PS Plus service in January 2022. Although, as with all predictions, take them with a pinch of salt.
#1 Sniper Elite V2 Remastered (PS4)
This was the game that pushed the entire Sniper franchise into the limelight. Rebellion is currently working on a new Sniper game, so it could be possible that this Remaster could make it into PS Plus list for January 2022.
Since this game is slightly old, expect it to be choppy here and there on the PS4. It's still a good game nevertheless, and you might enjoy playing this one if you're into sniping simulators.
#2 They Are Billions (PS4)
I can't help not include zombie games on any list. I may be wrong with this one but this is one fun little adventure.
They Are Billions is based in a post-apocalyptic zombie infested steampunk planet. As a player, you need to build your base to fight of the zombie hoards.
Interestingly enough, this game is one of the few PS4 games that support a keyboard and mouse setup.
#3 Dirt 5 (PS4/PS5)
Dirt 5 was born after Dirt Rally got a serious overhaul. This is one of the most spectacular arcade style racing games out there. The world is huge, the graphics are amazing and the voice actors have done a spectacular job too.
Oh, and it also supports split-screen multiplayer and 120 FPS! Pretty amazing in my opinion.
I'd be sad if Dirt 5 doesn't make it to PS Plus in January 2022.
That's all we know about the PlayStation Plus January 2022 free games for now, but we'll update once more information is available.
