Psychonauts 2 was a big hit for Double Fine. Nominated for Game of the Year at the recently held The Game Awards 2021, they're just confirmed that they're now working on 'multiple new projects.'
As per VGC, a recent post on Double Fine's Fig website mentioned they'll be moving on from focusing solely on Psychonauts 2, instead diverting their focus to various different projects. Part of the post reads:
“Psychonauts 2 has essentially wrapped up as a project although there will be tweaks and fixes as we move forward. The studio is already splitting up into various teams and starting different projects that we think you’ll enjoy. We like experimentation here at Double Fine. Every game is a chance to explore new ideas, new visual styles or gameplay, emotions, and more.”

Double Fine's Working on ‘Multiple New Projects’ Following Psychonauts 2
Despite this initiative, Double Fine assured fans they'll still be tracking support tickets coming to the game, stating:
"Our focus moves to these new projects but we’re also intensely tracking incoming support tickets sent our way and working with distributors to get folks their rewards as soon as our strange world allows. These are still somewhat uncertain times where even something like paper can be in short supply and affect production of goods."
Psychonauts 2 was first announced in 2015, before eventually releasing last August. Nabbing the Xbox Game of The Year award in the Golden Joystick Awards 2021, it was nominated for five categories during The Game Awards 2021.
