The big new PUBG Mobile 1.9 release date is right around the corner, and for whatever reason, knowing how to download it is always a major question on the day. Beyond talking about what it's set to bring to the premier mobile battle royale title, we're going to walk through how to get it, how much storage space you'll need, and a whole lot more.
Like virtually every PUBG Mobile update before it, this major patch will take a little while to download. Its size and scope will mean a little bit of downtime, but it's unlikely to cause you any problems unless you tend to play very late at night.
Even if it does - or if you're just looking for a new experience - check out the latest Apex Legends Mobile patch notes, our Apex Legends Mobile gun tier list and everything you need to know about the Apex Legends Mobile Ranked mode now that the game is available in some choice parts of the world.
When Is the PUBG Mobile 1.9 Release Date?
The new PUBG Mobile 1.9 update will go live from Friday, March 18 at 00:00 GMT/ 16:00 PT. Downloads are expected to go live before the servers go up, however, so you can hop straight back in as soon as the servers go live.
This should hold true for BGMI 1.9 as well. Being the same game in all but name, the update (and its contents) should arrive at the same time.
How Do I Download PUBG Mobile 1.9?
- Open up your App Store.
- Head to the 'Updates' tab or search for 'PUBG Mobile'
- Select the update option and wait for the file to download
- Enjoy everything that PUBG Mobile 1.9 has to offer!
Being a major patch, the PUBG Mobile 1.9 update will be available via the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. It's estimated to be around 700MB in size, but this can be much higher on iOS devices. If you're hoping to have your phone automatically download the patch overnight, make sure it's plugged in and has enough storage space.
If you don't use Google Play, you should be able to find the updated APK either on the PUBG Mobile website or via your usual APK file repository.
PUBG Mobile 1.9 Features
As usual, the PUBG Mobile 1.9 beta was available for a good long while before the release date was announced. That means a few players have already gotten some hands-on time with the new features. Here's what it's set to bring.
Royale Arena: Assault
The main new feature coming in PUBG Mobile 1.9 is a brand new game mode, entitled Royale Arena: Assault. We will be able to offer more information on this mode and everything that it entails once the developers release their patch notes.
Extended Recall System
The recall system (used to respawn fallen allies) will be made available in more maps after the PUBG Mobile 1.9 update lands. In Unranked matches, the Erangel, Livik, and Aftermath maps will all allow for respawns. In Ranked mode, the new anniversary versions of Erangel and Livik will allow for respawns as well.
Royale Pass Month Nine
As always, there will be a new Royale Pass arriving as part of the PUBG Mobile 1.9 release, although that is not yet available in the beta, so we'll have to wait a little while before we get all the details as to what will be included in that.
PUBG Mobile 1.9 Patch Notes
Right now, the PUBG Mobile 1.9 patch notes haven't been revealed. That'll likely change in the few days leading up to its release date. Once they do, we'll list all of the juicy and important details in this spot. Expect gun balance tweaks, bug fixes, and a few surprise additions.
And that's it for the PUBG Mobile 1.9 overview for now. Being an anniversary patch, we're expecting a lot of what this patch has to offer to be hidden as a birthday surprise. Until we know more, why not check out Frontlines codes for some Roblox FPS action?
