Rainbow Six Extraction's creative director, Patrik Méthé, has confirmed Ubisoft's latest tactical shooter will offer a “very generous post-launch plan.” Launching tomorrow for most platforms, Méthé announced this news directly to Gfinity in a recent interview.
When asked how Ubisoft Montreal plans to support Rainbow Six Extraction in the future, Méthé provided this statement:
We have a very generous post-launch plan that include new activities, new game modes, new enemy archetypes (remember, the parasite is always evolving) and new operators. The good news is that all this new content will be free.

Following up on this point, Méthé then discussed Extraction's end game mode, Maelstrom Protocol. Believing it'll keep players "very busy in terms of trying to complete it, that'll feature a rotating operator roster and maps associated with it.
We had positive impressions of Extraction in our recent review. Calling it "great fun" and a "a uniquely enjoyable entry in Team Rainbow’s history," we scored it 3.5/5, advising its overlapping Siege content felt better suited to being an expansion.
