You may have seen that Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 are all getting next-gen upgrades this year. Arriving on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, existing owners on PS4 and Xbox One can claim it for free and now, we've learned you'll be able to transfer existing saves, giving upgraders an additional incentive.
Furthermore, players who purchased Resident Evil 7: Gold Edition will have all of the DLC transferred over too. However, it's unknown if anyone who bought 7's season pass can also transfer it to next-gen consoles in a similar manner.
Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 Saves Are Transferable to PS5 and Xbox Series
For PlayStation users, it’s not yet clear if trophies will automatically unlock when transferring existing save data for Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7. Some last-gen games have previously allowed for trophy progression to be transferred to the next-gen version. If you're on Xbox, achievements are shared between the One and Series X|S, so this doesn't apply.
No release date for the next-gen versions of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7 has been revealed. We'll keep you updated once we know but for now, all three games are readily available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
