After eight years of waiting, Resident Evil 4 HD Project, a fan-made project, finally has a release date. Offering a newly restored version of Resident Evil 4 next month, that launches on February 2, 2022.
Revealed during a new trailer (thanks Destructoid), Resident Evil 4 HD Project 1.0 was created by two fans, and it's impressive work. What we've got here looks like a cleaner version of the GameCube edition, building upon it significantly.

Fan-Made Resident Evil 4 HD Project Finally Has a Release Date
Capcom's shown plenty of interest in Resident Evil 4 over the years, porting it to a large number of consoles, Resident Evil 4 VR on Meta Quest 2, and even rumours of a remake coming. Last year’s Resident Evil Village was partially inspired by Resident Evil 4 too, showing just how influential this game has been.
Fans looking to play Resident Evil 4 HD Project 1.0 need the Steam version of Resident Evil 4 and a good gaming PC to run these more detailed textures. Elsewhere, those with modern consoles can pick up Resident Evil 4 right now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
