You may not have heard of Roblox but millions of other players have, thanks to the fact that they can make their own games and customize their own avatars, making it a great service for those that like playing and making video games, so if you’re on PC or Xbox One, you should definitely try the game out since it is free-to-play.
While Roblox does offer a lot of things for players to do, the game is missing a few features that fans have been begging for, particularly voice chat, though it’s worth noting that not everyone wants this added in since a good number of the game’s audience can be quite young.
However, as noted by HITC.com, the studio recently held an Investor Day where the company made it clear that a new strategy will see them start to cater towards older users.
"This is because 44% of users are now said to be over the age of 13, but it’s the 56% under that have fans dreading the addition of verbal communication," writes HITC.com
Is Roblox Adding Voice Chat?
Yes, Roblox is adding voice chat.
The developers confirmed that Roblox is getting voice chat during the studio’s Investor Day meeting on February 26, 2021.
Despite this confirmation, it's possible that Voice Chat could still be pretty far away from launching on the platform.
When Is Roblox Voice Chat Coming in 2021?
It's less certain if Roblox will add voice chat in 2021.
Apparently, the devs have been working on Roblox’s voice chat feature since 2019 so they know how much players have wanted this and have been trying to implement this carefully, which is good to hear.
Considering the lack of a proper release date, we can only hope that the game’s voice chat actually arrives in 2021, though complications could delay it even further, especially due to the type of game this is.
Having to implement voice chat on a number of different platforms and the various games contained within Roblox could prove to be troublesome.
Roblox is now available on PC, mobile devices, and Xbox One.
