Andrew Garfield has finally broken his silence on his Spider-Man: No Way Home role in a new interview with The Wrap.
For those who don't recall, Garfield did his best prior to the picture's launch by misguiding fans about his presence in the film. During the interview, Garfield also admitted that he found the charade stressful, but equally a whole heap of fun maintaining the cahoots.

Andrew Garfield Enjoyed Lying About His Spider-Man No Way Home Appearance
Whilst promoting his new film, Tick, Tick...BOOM!, Garfield was bombarded with questions about his involvement in No Way Home:
It was stressful, I’m not gonna lie. It was rather stressful but also weirdly enjoyable. It was like this massive game of Werewolf that I was playing with journalists and with people guessing, and it was very fun.
As many remember, a video leaked prior to the MCU film's release showcasing Garfield on set in his Amazing Spider-Man costume. Many were unsure if the snippet was even legitimate. However, some fans were convinved he was in it, given the longstanding rumour that No Way Home would feature a multiverse storyline.
The video prompted many journalists to enquire about the Oscar-nominated actor's involvement:
There were moments where I was like, ‘God, I hate lying.’ I don’t like to lie and I’m not a good liar, but I kept framing it as a game. And I kept imagining myself purely as a fan of that character, which is not hard to do.
From the perspective of a Spidey fan, the actor was determined to keep both: his and Tobey Maguire's roles a surprise:
I placed myself in that position of, Well, what would I want to know? Would I want to be toyed with? Would I want to be lied to? Would I want to be kept on my toes guessing? Would I want to discover it when I went to the theater? Would I want to be guessing, guessing, guessing?
Andrew Garfield is coming off a Golden Globe win for his Tick, Tick...BOOM! performance. The actor could even be up for another award, as Sony and Marvel push Spider-Man: No Way Home in the Oscars race.
