Star Wars' foray into TV and films expanded much further following Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm. The space opera isn't the only property Lucasfilm is known for, but apparently, it's one of the only ones the studio wants to focus on for a while.
A new report by The Hollywood Reporter claims that the studio isn't looking to increase the number of IPs at its disposal. Rather, Lucasfilm is looking to produce more shows and movies based on the series it already owns, with one of those being Star Wars.
"Lucasfilm, according to sources, has decidedly shifted away from developing projects that are new and is leaning even more toward those already under its umbrella," the report said.

Star Wars and Other Popular Franchises Remain the Priority at Lucasfilm
The news comes following the loss of Children of Blood and Bone, a book adaptation that had been in development at Lucasfilm for several years. The series was set to be Lucasfilm's next Star Wars-esque property, but the volumes have now moved to Paramount Pictures with the novel's author, Tomi Adeyemi, penning the screenplay.
These projects include the upcoming Indiana Jones 5 and the Willow Disney+ show, along with Star Wars.
This makes sense given the Skywalker saga's success at the box office, along with the popularity of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
An Obi-Wan Kenobi series and Ahsoka series are still in the works, and while there's still likely much more Star Wars to come - including a series set in the Old Republic and a Knights of the Old Republic remake - there's no word on what Lucasfilm has in store for Indiana Jones.
