Agent Chamber, a Sentinel in Valorant.

Chamber is a Sentinel Agent that arrived as a part of Episode 3 Act 3 of Valorant. He is notably well-dressed and well-armed, and as a Sentinel with a rather aggressive set of abilities, he is set to change the meta of ranked gameplay.

Chamber is arguably created to cause some chaos amongst matches, with his abilities being high-damage and centred around having opponents play into his line of sight and be trapped there. With both a sniper and a Sheriff to hand, the Agent is going to be a popular pick amongst offensive players with skilled aim.

It might feel tempting to hop into a match as Chamber and fire away, but as with all Valorant Agents, it's definitely beneficial to spend a little time getting to know how he works and plays off of other Agents first. Here, we share everything we know about playing as Chamber.

Is Chamber Good in Valorant?

While Chamber is a Sentinel, meaning that he is expected to help with the defense of his team, many suggest that he plays more like a Duelist or Initiator. Sentinels are experts on providing both utility and information to their teammates so that they can hold an area effectively. However, after one look at Chamber's abilities and the amount of damage he is able to inflict, and it becomes immediate that he's certainly different to other Sentinel Agents on the roster.

Chamber is certainly versatile, and will suit those who simultaneously want to hold down an area while fragging high. His abilities and how players use him make him feel more like a blend between Sentinel and Duelist classes, so he is ideal for players of both classes who want to try out something uniquely different to their usual Agents.

Is Chamber Good for Beginners?

Chamber is a hit and miss Agent for beginners, depending on the players skill. Much of his kit relies on players to be skilled at gunplay and have precise aim. This is because one of his abilities has him using the Sheriff pistol, while another has him firing a sniper. Good raw aim is not something that all beginners will necessarily have, which can make Chamber feel quite weak in the hands of a beginner to FPS games.

That being said, Chamber is certainly a unique Sentinel Agent to practice with as a beginner. Technically, players will get to practice all the skills of a Sentinel Agent such as trapping enemies, holding an area, and communicating with their team. Simultaneously, they have the fire power of a Duelist Agent to practice with, and multiple weapon-based abilities to practice their aim with.

All in all, Chamber isn't the best pick for beginners who are new to Valorant, but he isn't a bad pick either. Chamber is an Agent that should be reserved for those with skills in precise gunplay, but there is a lot to be learnt as a beginner trying to play as him, which is a good thing.

How To Play As Chamber — Abilities & Skills

Here are all four of Chamber's abilities in Valorant:

Trademark (C) - PLACE a trap that scans for enemies. When a visible enemy comes in range, the trap counts down and then destabilizes the terrain around them, creating a lingering field that slows players caught inside of it.

Headhunter (Q) - ACTIVATE to equip a heavy pistol. ALT FIRE with the pistol equipped to aim down sights.

Signature: Rendezvous (E) - PLACE two teleport anchors. While on the ground and in range of an anchor, REACTIVATE to quickly teleport to the other anchor. Anchors can be picked up to be REDEPLOYED.

Ultimate: Tour de Force (X) - ACTIVATE to summon a powerful, custom sniper rifle that will kill an enemy with any direct hit. Killing an enemy creates a lingering field that slows players caught inside of it.

Tips for Playing as Chamber in Valorant

Other Sentinel Agents, such as Killjoy, Sage, and Cypher, have utilities to be playing around with regularly that arm a team with information and help them to hold down an area. Technically, Chamber has only one utility that aids with this - his Trademark - and the rest of his abilities rely primarily on gunplay to hold down an area. Before playing as Chamber, it's important to keep in mind that his role relies heavily on holding down an area with kills and intimidation.

For more confident Valorant players, Chamber also has a get out of jail free card. Think about Jett's ability to rush into a gunfight, get a kill, then dash right away from it. Chamber can essentially do the same using his signature ability, Rendezvous, and almost immediately teleport away from the action. This means that while Chamber is a Sentinel, and players should remember this, he can also be used very aggressively and attempt to take out an enemy Agent immediately, putting the enemy team at an instant disadvantage.

When using the Headhunter ability, it is also important to remember that while the weapon is a Sheriff, it's much better than your standard one. Headhunter will do 159 damage with a headshot from any range, while a standard Sheriff will only be capable of 145 within a 50 metre range. Additionally, players can aim down sights with Headhunter to ensure their aim is even more precise. ADS is not possible on your usual Sheriff, so don't forget to utilise it.

Chamber's main utility ability, Trademark, allows him to drop a trap that will scan for enemy Agents. If an enemy is in range of it for a set amount of time, the trap will then destabilise the terrain around the player, slowing them down. This an incredibly important utility that Chamber players should make use of, as any traps placed will remain active even if Chamber is killed, which is great for counteracting any flanking. Just remember that these traps aren't invisible like Killjoy's Alarm Bots, and will need tactically placing around a map or area.

Finally, pairing Chamber up with an Agent who has smokes or flashes makes a great duo. While Chamber can do a great deal of damage, he doesn't have anything in his kit to help him hide or provoke a reaction from the enemy team. By pairing him with an Agent who can blind or smoke angles so Chamber can position himself, he'll be able to work off of their actions to keep himself alive while taking down enemy Agents.

Chamber's Weaknesses

Loading...

Chamber can do a great deal of damage if he uses his abilities effectively, but as a Sentinel through and through, he is going to have issues when on the attack unless he has another player there to defend him or help him to distract enemy Agents.

Players can also work out how Chamber may play depending on the use of his abilities. If he is using Headhunter or Tour De Force, which are typically announced via a voiceline or gunfire that commences shortly after, you can assume that Chamber is going to take on long-range duels. Enemy Agents will need to shorten the distance between themselves and Chamber using smokes or walls so it is harder for him to aim.

If, as the enemy team, you're struggling against a Chamber while trying to plant the spike, your best bet is to immediately rotate to another site. This will render his Rendezvous and Trademark abilities pointless, unless he uses valuable time to pick them up and deploy them elsewhere... long after the start of the round.

Ultimately, the one most fear-inducing thing about Chamber is his ability to whip out a sniper or Sheriff without much notice and quickly eliminate an entire team. The best way to counter this is to strip him of his abilities by countering him with abilities that supress agents or waste their time. For example, KAY/O can use the ZERO/POINT and NULL/CMD abilities in their kit to suppress Chamber and prevent him from using his abilities temporarily. An Agent like Jett or Neon could even make attempts to use their agility to make a Chamber waste their bullets needlessly, too.
