If you'd like to know Horizon Worlds works, then we've got you covered.

Here's everything you need to know, including whether you need a Facebook account in order to access Horizon Worlds.

How Does Horizon Worlds Work?

In short, Horizon Worlds works based on users building interesting virtual worlds that other players can then explore. This comes alongside the host of multiplayer minigames that players can have fun with.

Alongside this, there is also more of a social element to Horizon Worlds where players can meet in a 'hangout', or in other words, a large space where multiple activities are designed to take place, including everything from watching an event in an auditorium to throwing paper airplanes.

Is Horizon Worlds Part Of The Metaverse?

It could be argued that Horizon Worlds is one of the earliest components of the metaverse, or in other words, a virtual world where users can have fun and also work at the same time. In essence, it brings the concept of virtual reality to life.

Facebook Connect showed off what the metaverse could look like, and certain elements looked similar to what Horizon Worlds does now.

The game does provide the chance for users to have fun in a virtual space and interact with others, and the working side of this is currently in a beta stage, under the name of Horizon Workrooms, which entered a beta stage in August 2021.

Do I Need A Facebook Account To Access Horizon Worlds?

In short, yes you do. In order to play Horizon Worlds, you will need to link up the game to your Facebook account.

However, the same is also true for when you first setup your Oculus Quest 2 with the Oculus App. It will need to be linked to a Facebook account in order for you to complete setup.

Horizon Worlds certainly seems like a interesting game, especially given it's free to play and by the time more users arrive, the world should be packed full of fun and exciting games for players to get involved with.
