If you need to know how to charge your Oculus Quest 2, then you're in the right place. Charging it of course means you'll be able to keep using it, and not worry too much about the battery dying when you're mid-game.

Here's how to charge the headset, alongside some other handy info on to charge the controllers and how long you can expect to wait before everything is fully charged.

How To Charge Your Oculus Quest 2

Handily, charging your Oculus Quest 2 headset is an easy process. All you have to do is utilise the provided USB-C adapter that comes in the box and then connect the plug-end into a free outlet and the USB-C cable into the headset, and away you go.

If you don't want to deal in multiple cables though, you can also charge the headset via a charging dock. There's an official one from Anker that works to charge the headset via a magnetic USB-C connector, which works once you've plugged the dock into the wall.

How To Charge Oculus Quest 2 Controllers

Unlike the headset, the Oculus Touch controllers that come with the Quest 2 don't feature their own internal rechargeable cell and instead work via some bundled AA batteries.

To charge the controllers, you'll need to invest in some rechargeable AA batteries and an associated charger to keep them topped up.

Handily though, the Anker Charging Dock for the Quest 2 can also charge the controllers thanks to its own rechargeable cells that can be placed into the controllers to power them and then charge them up alongside the headset via one USB-C cable from the dock into the wall.

How Long Should The Quest 2 Take To Charge?

The Oculus Quest 2 should take around 2.5 hours to reach capacity, which will give you between 2 and 3 hours of playtime. It's usually more towards 2 hours for gaming and 3 hours if you're viewing any media.

If you have invested in some rechargaeable AA batteries for your Touch controllers, then the charge time depends on how quickly your battery charger charges them up. For battery life though, the controllers should last for a couple of months or so before the AAs need replacing.

With the official Anker Charging Dock accessory, it just adds another layer of versatility to what is an already feature-packed headset, given its huge native games library with titles like Beat Saber and Skyrim VR, and also the ability to play SteamVR games, for instance.
