Lost Ember VR: Release Date, Price, And Compatible Headsets

share to other networks share to twitter share to facebook

Lost Ember VR is looking like one of the best VR ports to date, and we can't wait for its release.

It should hopefully be a more immersive take on the classic tale of discovery, which provides you with the chance to play as different animals and explore a diverse land filled with forests, canyons and a lot more besides to learn more about an ancient past.

Understandably, therefore, we're pretty excited to find out what this VR iteration has to offer, and if it's any good then Lost Ember VR may just mark itself out as one of the best indie VR games out there.

Here's what we know so far about the upcoming port.

Lost Ember VR Release Date

The Steam page simply says a VR version is simply 'Coming Soon', which could mean anything from next week to a few months.

If we had to predict, we'd say the game is likely heading our way sooner rather than later, and the second we hear more we'll be sure to update you.

Lost Ember VR Price

MoonEye Studios have said though that this VR port will be included with the regular game, which is currently priced at £25.99, meaning you're almost going to be getting two games for the price of one.

In addition, if you already own a copy of the standard Lost Ember game on PC, then you'll be getting this VR upgrade for free, which is rather handy.

WIDE ARRAY: Lost Ember VR works with SteamVR headsets including the HTC Vive Pro 2

Whilst we may not know a release date for Lost Ember VR as of yet, we do know what headsets it should be working with.

As this is a SteamVR title, the game is supported by traditional tethered VR headsets - namely the Valve Index, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive which handily, are some of the best VR headsets out there right now.

There isn't any word on if Lost Ember VR will work with Quest 2 at the moment which may perhaps be surprising given the Quest 2 can play SteamVR games when connected to a PC.

Intriguingly, Lost Ember VR won't work with motion controls in VR, so you're best off teaming it with one of the best gaming keyboards and one of the best gaming mice for an optimal playing experience when the game releases.

Lost Ember VR, by being available on Steam, also joins some of the best VR games out there including the likes of Half-Life: Alyx and Beat Saber.

We'll be back with you when we hear more, but be sure to stick around as 2022 looks like a big year for hardware, especially with the potential release of the Meta Quest Pro and PSVR 2.
