If you'd like to know if the Meta Quest 3 will be compatible with PS5, we've got you covered.

Here's everything you need to know, including what platforms the Quest 3 should be able to work with.

Will Meta Quest 3 Work With PS5?

In short, we don't know. Most details on the Meta Quest 3, including its release date, are rather scant at the moment, but we think we can make an educated guess on this point.

It would make sense that the Quest 3 won't, especially as Sony is developing their own VR headset at the moment, the PSVR 2, which may also be out before the Quest 3 hits the shelves.

In addition, as games like Horizon Worlds don't look to be coming to PS5 given it's a Meta-exclusive at the moment, it makes sense that this may extend into the hardware side, too.

What Platforms Will Meta Quest 3 Work With?

Given that the Meta Quest 3 could play Steam games like its predecessor, it would make sense that it's compatible with powerful gaming PCs that meet the hardware specs for utilising a VR headset.

It's also worth noting that you may not need a PC at all to use the Quest 3 as it should work with games from its own internal storage if the previous generation of headset is used as a model.

What VR Headsets Work With PS5?

As things stand, the only VR headset that is officially supported by the PS5 is the original PSVR, which has not been discontinued, contrary to popular belief.

To get it to work with the PS5, you'll need to pick up the PS5 Camera Adaptor which Sony are giving away to PSVR owners for free, as long as you provide the headset's serial number.

Then, it's a case of plugging in the relevant cables into the headset's black box, the camera and the console itself, and you're ready to go.

This is going to be the only headset until the PSVR 2 is released, be it in 2022 or further down the line, which could feature quite the beefy spec sheet, that could potentially feature an 8K display, if a recent Sony prototype is to be believed, as well as controllers with haptic feedback.

We'll be back with you soon with more VR news, guides and info, so be sure to check back in with us soon, and don't forget that the Meta Quest Pro looks to be on its way if you're looking to try out a powerful VR gaming experience when the headset's release date does come around.
