How To Find Black Metal
The Plains is one of the most dangerous biomes in Valheim so, keep this in mind when you plan to start harvesting Black Metal. You should see plenty of enemies wandering about, in particular, we want to find Fuling. These creatures can be located in Fuling Villages and look like goblins, when killed they will drop at least one Black Metal Scrap. These enemies are extremely hostile and as you get closer to their villages you'll start being attacked, so it's important to make sure you're as prepared as possible in regards to armour and weapons. Try to lure a few out at a time and gradually pick them off.
Crafting With Black Metal
To smelt down Black Metal Scrap you'll need a Blast Furnace which will need to be placed close by to an Artisan Table. It works the exact same as a Smelter, load up coal and whatever you're smelting and you'll get bars in return, it requires the following resources:
- 20x Stone
- 5x Surtling Cores
- 10x Iron
- 20x Fine Wood
Black Metal Ore can be used to crafting the items below, some of the best quality weapons in Valheim:
- Blackmetal Atgeir
- Blackmetal Axe
- Blackmetal Knife

Upgrading your weapons is a step in the right direction, but what about your armour? Are you wielding the best-ranged weapon possible?
